I'm David Thang and from Myanmar. Currenly, I am doing my Master of Divinity in ASCM.
My testimony!!!
My name is David Thang. I was born into a Christian family. However, I did not know Jesus Christ as my personal savior until I was twelve years old. But I came to know Jesus Christ personally as my savior in the year of April 27, 1998 during one week of time camping held by Gospel Baptist Church. I was baptized in the same year. Being teenager I was not strong enough in Christian Life for three years. Nonetheless God is good to me to waken by spiritual life. Though my parents wanted me to do theological studies, I did not agree. The Holy Spirit by and large convinced me to pursue Bible studies. When I was convicted the importance of Christian life, I decided to do theological studies. It is my own decision to go to Bible College. My parents, brother and sisters were all happy with me for going to Bible College. In fact, my father is serving the Lord for over thirty two years as evangelist, church leader and pastor, and principal of Bible Schools. At presence he is a president of Life Theological Seminary which is founded by him.
I finished my B.Th and B.SC course in the years of 2006. During I was doing my B.Th course the Lord gave me many opportunities to serve him. I served as youth leader, song leader and I handled youth Bible study. Even thought I am not perfect, the Lord is with me in every areas of my ministry. I liked to serve the Lord and I have a strong desire to follow him. Finally, the Lord gave me a great opportunity to continue my Theological study here in the Philippines. I praise and thank God for that. Firstly, when I arrived here I was full with worries for my study because I’m not so good in English. As I am coming from Myanmar I am poor in English. But the Lord has chosen me to follow him so He sustains me to follow the way that he has prepared for me. Only by His grace I could come to ASCM.
My main purpose of doing theological studies is to equip and extend Biblical knowledge, and to understand the significance of serving the Lord as a simple instrument. To know the surpassing knowledge of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ step by step is the central means in my life and it is the focal point of achieving my Christian life to become towards more maturity. For me it is the essence of studying the Bible and the goal of Christian life.
